Year 10 Venerable Brother Alfano went
on their field trip on September 28,2012, Friday at Mt. Banahaw and the
surrounding areas of it as part of the school activity to meet their goal in
doing their mega project for different subjects.
The students were given instructions
before the field trip as their guide on how they are going to prepare for their
trip. One of the instructions given is going to school 5:00 in the morning because
the bus will be leaving at exactly 5:40.
The tour guide said “Mt. Banahaw is
considered a holy place and you need to prevent yourself in saying the word “kulto”
to pay respect for the people who live there”.
VBA was brought to many places that are
considered holy such as gate of Ciudad Mistica de dios, Husgado cave, Calvary
and river.
Before going to the Husgado up to the
river, they had their warm-up exercise lead by the tour guides. This exercise
is really important to prevent cramps and injuries and to become more stable
especially in climbing up to the calvary.
The students were also joined by three people who lived
there to guide them the way going to the places around the mountain.
In the middle of the adventure, they had their lunch for
about 30 minutes after they went to the Husgado cave which is believed to be
the judgment of your own sins.
After their lunch, they immediately held to the Mt.
Calvary which is considered to be the mountain where Jesus sacrifices himself
to save his people.
Their last destination is the river where the students
bathed to wash their body. This river is believed to have a healing power.
Immediately after the bathing sessions they went back
again to the bus and returned to school at 10:00 for approximately 4 hours of travel.
They went back to school tired but at the same time happy for a fulfilling trip
to Banahaw.
